Anoto announces the establishment of KAIT Solutions Inc., a US subsidiary for its education software
Stockholm, July 25, 2019 – Anoto Group AB (Anoto) today announces that it has now established the new US entity KAIT Solutions Inc. to enable rapid growth of Anoto’s education solution KAIT (Knowledge AI Technology).
Since launching KAIT in late January 2019, KAIT has been able to attract an all-star technical team within data science and machine learning including three key scientists holding PhD’s from Harvard, Yale and MIT.
Curtis G. Northcutt, KAIT’s Chief AI Scientist, is an expert in machine learning in education and a PhD candidate in Computer Science at MIT. Curtis will be leading the development of KAIT’s state of the art AI algorithm, which is an integral part of the technology that makes KAIT a groundbreaking product. He is a fellow of National Science Foundation and a winner of Barry Goldwater National Scholarship.
Andrew Schwartz, KAIT’s Chief Data & Systems Architect, holds a PhD in Mathematics from Harvard University and is one of a select few people in the world with the ability to create global scale backend data systems architecture matched only by giants such as Google and Amazon. With Andrew’s expertise, KAIT’s system architecture will be able to reach a global scale. Andrew also has experience in optimization start ups and his most recent start up, Lattice Engine, was sold to Dun & Bradstreet.
Jonathan Young is a machine learning expert, especially within the voice and language field. Jonathan holds a PhD from Yale University and has more than 25 years’ experience in software engineering at Companies such as Dragon, Lingo Motors and Attivio.
Apart from these three key scientists at the core of the technical team, KAIT has recruited a data scientist, a database system architecture engineer and a lead UI engineer.
“Not only have we been able to attract top talent to KAIT within a very short period of time, but the product itself is starting to get recognition within some of the world’s highest ranked institutions and research labs” said Joonhee Won, CEO of Anoto Group.
Starting July 2019, KAIT agreed to supply its software to Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab at MIT in its research to develop a next generation assessment platform for its STEM Curriculum. Using KAIT, they will also try to measure creativity with digital data collected using Anoto smartpens.
Professor Alan Edelman, a professor of applied mathematics at MIT, will also use KAIT in his linear algebra class with over 250 participating students.
“Professor Edelman immediately saw the potential that KAIT has to reshape the way classroom education is being done today. Using KAIT’s AI algorithm, Professor Edelman will be able to automate the administrative tasks of today’s classroom studies, but he also sees value in KAIT’s cognitive and behavioral diagnostics program”
KAIT Solutions Inc. has also been able to attract some of the world’s most distinguished scientists in robotics, artificial intelligence and data science from MIT and Columbia University to its advisory board.
“KAIT is finally ready for the next stages of growth. We have created a game changing product and managed to recruit a world class technical advisory board and a core operative engineering team. We have also hired a highly skilled education sales team covering, California, New York, New England and Midwest regions. We are excited about the caliber of people assembled at KAIT and look forward to working with them to help improve efficiency in education globally”
