Lund, Sweden and LOS ANGELES, Calif. – February 8th, 2016- Anoto is breaking new ground within the creative industry with its sale of the Anoto Live Wall to LAIKA, the world-renowned animation studio based just outside Portland, Oregon. LAIKA is known for its unparalleled blend of stop-motion and visual effects artistry, as well as its use of state-of the-art technology.
“We have an enormous amount of respect for LAIKA’s work, and are inspired by the art they create. It has truly been magical to see our technology be integrated into their offices,” said Einy Paulsen, Anoto’s VP of Business Development.
Anoto Live Wall features a combination of hardware and software that inspires creativity and collaboration by providing space for designing, sketching, ideation and presentations that is unlike any other surface. Paired with the Anoto digital pen, which captures high-resolution tracking and provides the ultimate precision within designs, even the smallest and most detailed of sketches can be enlarged to a billboard size without diminished quality. The combination of the Anoto pens and palettes makes it even easier for multiple users to work on the Anoto Live Wall all at once. Having these tools within your grasp allows the creative mind to flow uninhibited.
LAIKA will use the Anoto Live Wall with its own custom-developed application for coordinating and managing production schedules. The Anoto Live Wall provides a large surface that allows for multiple users to see their work on a grand scale. According to Jeff Stringer, LAIKA’s Director of Production Technology: "At LAIKA the shooting schedule is at the center of daily interactions where teams coordinate the work on dozens of stages. This new system is bringing a visual richness and digital interactivity to all those discussions." The Anoto Wall provides a large surface that allows for multiple users to see their work on a grand scale.
Anoto plans to continue to build the relationship with LAIKA to explore the possibilities for future products and workflow processes. This will allow Anoto to get even closer to their end users.
“At Anoto it is very important to be close to the customer and the relationship with LAIKA will only help us close the gap between artistry and technology,” said James Shannon, SVP of Software and Chief Architect of Anoto.
